1. Who We Are

Pipe-Up Inc. (“Pipe-Up”, “we”, “us”) provides online training, study resources, and chatbot support for pipeline professionals at Pipe-Up.ca (the “Site”) and related platforms (the “Services”).

2. Scope

This Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you visit our Site, purchase training, use our chatbot/AI features, or interact with us. We comply with: 

  • Canada: PIPEDA (privacy) and CASL (anti‑spam)
  • United States: California Consumer Privacy Act and its amendments (CCPA/CPRA) 

3. What We Collect

  • Account information: name, email, password, role, company.
  • Payment information: billing details (processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers).
  • Course activity: enrollments, completions, quiz results, certificates.
  • Support and chatbot: questions, messages, and feedback you submit.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device, pages visited; cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5). 

We use personal information to: 

  • Provide and manage accounts, courses, and certificates.
  • Process payments, detect/prevent fraud.
  • Communicate about the Services and respond to support requests.
  • Improve content, features, performance, and security (including AI/chatbot quality).
  • Send service notices and (with consent where required) marketing communications.
  • Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations; enforce our Terms. 

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, measure performance (analytics), and, where enabled, support marketing. 
Your choices: 

  • Use browser settings to block/delete cookies.
  • Use our cookie banner/controls (if available) to manage non‑essential cookies. 

Payments are processed by third‑party providers (e.g., Stripe). They handle your financial details under their own privacy policies. We receive limited payment metadata (e.g., last 4 digits, status) and do not store full card numbers. 

When you use our chatbot or AI tools, your prompts and interaction history are processed to provide responses and improve the feature. Avoid submitting confidential or highly sensitive personal information. 

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with: 

  •  Service providers/Processors (hosting, LMS, payment, analytics, CRM/email, AI infrastructure) under contracts to use data solely on our instructions.
  • Legal authorities if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security.
  • Business transfers in connection with mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales. 

We store and process information in Canada and the United States. We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here, to meet legal or accounting requirements, or to resolve disputes. When no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it. 

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data (e.g., encryption in transit, access controls, least‑privilege). No method is 100% secure; use strong, unique passwords and protect your login credentials. 

Canada (PIPEDA/CASL) 

  •  Access and correction rights.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing emails (unsubscribe anytime).

California (CCPA/CPRA) 

  • Right to know the categories/pieces of personal information we collect, use, disclose, or share.
  • Right to delete personal information (subject to legal exceptions).
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell personal information).
  • Right to non‑discrimination for exercising your rights.

We send service‑related emails (receipts, enrollment notices). Marketing emails are sent only with your express opt‑in consent. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in the message or by contacting us. 

Our Services are not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it. 

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, where required, provide additional notice.
